More than 500 young people have been employed in various roles ahead of the launch of the “Summer Country Tour” concert series, which begins in Musanze District, singer Bruce Melodie has said.
He made the announcement on June 13, 2026, as he outlined preparations for the first of four shows scheduled to kick off at Ubworoherane Stadium in Musanze.
Bruce Melodie said the tour is designed not only to entertain audiences across the country but also to create employment opportunities for young people in host districts.
“Today, over 500 young people are working here in different roles. We must deliver entertainment, but also create jobs for young people,” he said.
Speaking to RBA, he added that each stop on the tour will also provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talents through exhibitions held in the days leading up to the concerts.
“For example, in Nyagatare we will spend three days in an exhibition where artists will showcase their talents,” he said.
He noted that artists involved in music, instrumentals, visual arts and crafts will be given space to present their work.
The tour will feature artists including Bruce Melodie, The Ben, Kitoko and Bwiza, alongside other performers from host districts.
The concerts will begin in Musanze, move to Nyagatare on June 20, continue in Bugesera on June 27, and conclude in Rubavu on July 4, 2026.
