Fourteen volleyball teams from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Benin are set to compete in the annual Genocide Memorial Tournament (GMT), a competition held in remembrance of victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

The tournament will run from June 19 to 21, 2026.

The women’s category features six teams, including Kepler VC, APR VC, Police VC and RRA VC (all from Rwanda), alongside Uganda’s KCB Nkumba VC and Kenya’s KPA VC.

In the men’s category, eight teams will compete: Kepler VC, Police VC, Gisagara VC, REG VC, RP Ngoma VC and APR VC (all Rwanda), Uganda’s Sky VC and Finance VC from Benin.

A technical meeting to finalize competition arrangements and conduct the draw is scheduled for June 18, 2026, at the Ministry of Sports conference hall.

Last year, Police WVC won the women’s title, while REG VC claimed the men’s crown.
