The Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) has released the schedule for the 2026 National Basketball League playoffs, with Patriots BBC set to face REG BBC in the semifinals after the conclusion of the regular season.
The playoffs will feature the top four teams in the final standings: APR BBC, Patriots BBC, REG BBC and RSSB Tigers BBC.
League leaders APR BBC will face fourth-placed RSSB Tigers BBC, while Patriots BBC, who finished second, will take on third-placed REG BBC in the other semifinal pairing.
The semifinals will be played in a best-of-five format, with the first team to win three games progressing to the finals. The championship series will follow a best-of-seven format, where a team must secure four victories to be crowned champions.
According to the schedule released by FERWABA, the semifinal action will begin on Wednesday, August 5, with Game 2 scheduled for Friday, August 7. Both matchdays will be played at BK Arena, where REG BBC and Patriots BBC will open the action at 6:30 p.m., followed by APR BBC against RSSB Tigers BBC at 9:00 p.m.
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, at Petit Stade, with Patriots BBC hosting REG BBC at 6:00 p.m., before APR BBC face RSSB Tigers BBC at 8:30 p.m.
If necessary, Game 4 will be played on August 11, while a deciding Game 5 will take place on August 13, with matches scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The best-of-seven finals will start on August 16 at BK Arena, with the opening game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The third-place playoff will be played earlier that day at 4:00 p.m.
RSSB Tigers BBC are the only team among the four playoff contenders that have never won the Rwanda National Basketball League title.
APR BBC remain the most successful club in the competition’s history, having won 16 league titles, including the last three consecutive championships since 2023. Patriots BBC have lifted the trophy four times, while REG BBC have won it three times.
