Coffee remained Rwanda’s biggest agricultural export earner, generating $4.67 million from 729 tonnes shipped to international markets in just five days, according to new figures from the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).
Overall, Rwanda earned $11.35 million from agricultural exports between October 19 and 23, 2026, as the country shipped 9,485 tonnes of produce and related products to overseas markets.
Coffee accounted for nearly 41 per cent of the total export earnings, underlining its continued importance to Rwanda’s agricultural export sector.
Tea was another major contributor, bringing in $935,403 from 313 tonnes exported during the same period. Livestock products generated $570,826 from 367 tonnes.
Fruit exports earned the country $505,844 from 571 tonnes, while 249 tonnes of vegetables brought in $397,645. Flower exports added $65,962, with 16 tonnes shipped abroad.
Other agricultural products collectively generated $4.2 million from 7,241 tonnes, making them another substantial source of export revenue.
Rwanda’s agricultural products reached several international markets, including the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Bangladesh, as well as destinations across Africa.
The figures highlight the contribution of agricultural exports to Rwanda’s foreign-exchange earnings, with coffee, tea, horticultural produce and other products continuing to serve international markets.
