Some books are written to tell a story. Others are written to help people rewrite theirs.

After touching many lives with her first book, Shaped, which she launched on 16 July 2022, at the Kigali Convention Centre, Barbara Umuhoza is preparing to open another deeply personal chapter, one that promises to speak to the realities of love, marriage, heartbreak, healing, and hope.

Four years in the making, her second book, The Comeback: Surviving Divorce & Thriving After, is finally on its way.

From the moment she unveiled the cover, one thing became clear: this is more than a book about divorce. It is a conversation for everyone.

“I wrote it for you getting ready to stand at the altar, full of hope, wishing ‘I do’ leads straight to ‘happily ever after’. I wrote it for you in the middle of a marriage, fighting to stay, wondering if it is worth it. I wrote it for you walking away from vows you once meant with everything you had. This book was written with you in mind. All of you.” Barbara wrote on her X account while unveiling the book cover.

Barbara writes from a place of honesty, resilience, and hope, reminding readers that while some chapters may end, life itself does not. There is healing after heartbreak, purpose after pain, and the possibility of a meaningful comeback.

If Shaped was about becoming, The Comeback appears to be about rebuilding, finding the courage to rise again and thrive after life’s most difficult moments.

The cover has been revealed. The story is almost here.
