Musanze FC have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Rwanda international Mugiraneza Frodouard on a one-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Northern Province club announced the midfielder’s arrival on Tuesday, August 11, following his departure from Police FC.

Mugiraneza, who plays as a defensive midfielder, previously featured for Kiyovu Sports, APR FC and Police FC. He also represented Rwanda at international level.

The midfielder made his name at Kiyovu Sports, where he played between 2022 and 2024 before joining APR FC in the summer of 2024.

However, limited playing time at APR prompted him to move to Police FC after one season. He also struggled to secure a regular starting role at Police, leading to his move to Musanze.

Born in Nyabihu District, Western Province, Mugiraneza previously played for Vision Jeunesse Nouvelle and Marines FC.

His arrival makes him the third signing made by Musanze FC during the current transfer window, following winger Ndayishimiye Edouard and striker Destin Malanda.

The club has also extended the contracts of four players: Mukengere Christian, goalkeeper Nsabimana Jean de Dieu, popularly known as Shaulin, Munyurangabo Leonidas Ciriri and Gakwavu Jean Berkimas.

Musanze finished eighth in the 2025/26 Rwanda Premier League season and received RWF10 million in prize money.

The club is continuing preparations for the new campaign under head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha and has also entered into a partnership with UB-Fit Gym as part of its preparations.

Mugiraneza will now look to establish himself as a key figure in Musanze’s midfield as the club targets an improved performance in the 2026/27 season.
