Rwandan forward Noam Fritz Emeran has joined Swiss club FC Stade Lausanne Ouchy after ending his three-year spell with Dutch side FC Groningen.
Stade Lausanne Ouchy confirmed Emeran as their latest signing, adding the 24-year-old forward to a squad that has made a strong start to the season.
Emeran’s move to Switzerland comes as he remains in contention for the Rwanda national team, the Amavubi. He has been included in head coach Stephen Constantine’s provisional squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
The transfer also gives Emeran an opportunity to gain regular playing time at a club currently leading the 10-team Swiss league.
Stade Lausanne Ouchy have collected 17 points from seven matches, winning five and drawing two, and remain unbeaten.
The club, founded in 2000 following the merger of FC Ouchy and FC Stade Lausanne, described Emeran as its final signing of the summer transfer window.
Emeran will now look to make an immediate impact in Switzerland as he seeks to strengthen his case for a place in Rwanda’s national team.
