Police Volleyball Club has strengthened both its men’s and women’s teams with three new signings ahead of the 2026 season.
The men’s side has signed young setter Ganza Nolan Enzo, while the women’s team has recruited libero Uzamukunda Fillette and Brazilian outside hitter Rosaly Galdino Pereira Egwuatu Chioma.
Ganza joins Police VC after completing secondary school at Nyanza TSS, where he played a key role in the school’s successful 2025 campaign.
The setter helped Nyanza TSS win the national secondary schools championship, the Kagame Cup, which earned the school a place at FEASSA, and the Rutsindura Alphonse Memorial Tournament organized by Petit Seminaire Virgo Fidelis de Butare. The school also reached the final of the Kayumba Emmanuel Memorial Tournament.
Ganza has represented Rwanda at youth level and was part of the national U20 team at last year’s African Championship. He was also recently called up to the senior national team but did not make the final squad for the African Championship in Tunisia.
At Police VC, he joins setters Brian Melly and Mugisha Emmanuel. Melly is currently with Kenya’s national team.
Ganza is the second new player signed by Police VC after Brazilian middle blocker Matheus Bettim, known as Sekamana, returned to the club following a season with Viapol/Vôlei São José in Brazil.
Police VC is also expected to sign another attacker following the departure of Ugandan Angiro Gideon, who spent one season with the club.
On the women’s side, Police WVC, coached by Hatumimana Christian, has added Uzamukunda and Chioma.
Uzamukunda joins from Kepler WVC, having previously played for RRA WVC. She is experienced in Rwanda’s top division and was recently part of the national team that finished fourth at the African Championship in Nairobi, Kenya.
Her arrival addresses a gap at libero created by the departure of Uwamariya Jacqueline. Police had been using captain Hakizimana Judith in the position despite her usual role as an attacker.
Chioma, 25, joins from OK Mladost in North Macedonia. The 1.85-metre Brazilian can play as an outside hitter or opposite hitter and is expected to strengthen Police’s attack.
Police WVC won the 2025 national league title but failed to defend it after being eliminated by Kepler VC in the playoff semifinals.
The two new recruits join middle blocker Musambyemariya Donatha, who moved from APR WVC in January. She played for Police in other competitions but could not feature in the league because she had already played for another club during the same league season.
