East African University Rwanda volleyball club, EAUR VC, has signed Kageruka Cedrick from Kepler VC as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.

The outside hitter and receiving attacker joins EAUR VC after spending three seasons with Kepler, where he established himself as one of the league’s reliable receivers.

Kageruka is expected to fill the void left by Nshuti Jean Paul, who captained EAUR VC last season but has since left the club after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract.

The new signing arrives with an individual accolade to his name, having won the Best Receiver award at the Genocide Memorial Tournament (GMT) in June 2026. Kepler VC went on to win the tournament, which is held to commemorate the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Kageruka has also represented other clubs in Rwanda’s top division, including Kigali VC (KVC) and Gisagara VC. He began his senior volleyball career after completing secondary school at College Christ Roi in Nyanza.

He becomes the third player signed by EAUR VC under head coach Dusabimana Vincent “Gasongo” ahead of the new campaign.

EAUR had earlier recruited Ugandan opposite hitter Iga Mohammed from KCCA and setter Ndayambaje Wilson from Kirehe VC.

The club has also seen several established players depart, including former captain Nshuti Jean Paul and James Achuil, who has joined Gisagara VC.

Kageruka’s arrival is expected to bolster EAUR VC’s reception and attacking options as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
