Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) provided free medical services to 143 residents of Bangui, the country’s capital, as part of activities marking United Nations Day.

The medical outreach was conducted on Saturday, October 24, 2026, by Rwanda Battalion 1 (RWABATT-1) in the capital’s 9th arrondissement.

The initiative aimed to help vulnerable residents access healthcare through medical examinations, treatment and the provision of medicines.

Services covered both communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as dental and eye conditions.

A day earlier, on October 23, Rwandan peacekeepers serving in the town of Paoua also joined efforts to provide clean water to local communities.

Working alongside other forces deployed in the area, the Rwandan troops supplied clean water to more than 300 residents of Laba camp, located in Goboro village.

The water distribution was also organised as part of activities commemorating the 81st anniversary of the United Nations, observed on October 24, 2026.
