Muslim players of APR FC on Friday morning joined fellow believers across Rwanda and the world in Eid prayers marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The national Eid prayer gathering was held at Kigali Pelé Stadium in Nyamirambo, drawing large crowds of worshippers celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

Among the APR FC players who took part were Mamadou Sy, Dauda Yussif Seidu, Fitina Ombolenga, Yunusu Nshimiyimana, Hakim Bugingo and Hakim Kiwanuka, among others.

Delivering his Eid message, Rwanda’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Sindayigaya Mussa urged Muslims to sustain the spirit of good deeds beyond Ramadan.

“Completing the month of Ramadan does not mean the end of good deeds. A wise believer draws lessons from this period and continues striving, as God commands us to worship and do good at all times until death,” he said.

The players concluded the holy fast ahead of a crucial fixture later in the day, with APR FC set to face Amagaju FC at 6:00 PM in a Matchday 25 clash of the Rwanda Premier League, also scheduled to take place at Kigali Pelé Stadium.

APR FC heads into the match on the back of qualifying for the semi-finals of the Peace Cup and currently sits second on the league table with 46 points, trailing leaders Al Merrikh SC, who have 48 points.
