English Premier League club Arsenal FC has joined Rwandans in commemorating the 32nd anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

On Monday morning, April 7, 2026, the club shared a video message on its social media platforms featuring players Jurrien Timber, David Raya, Christian Nørgaard, and Ben White. The players expressed solidarity with Rwandans and the global community, honoring the victims of the genocide.

Defender Jurrien Timber said, “On this 32nd commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, we pay tribute to those who lost their lives and stand with the people of Rwanda during this period of remembrance.”

Arsenal has maintained an eight-year partnership with Rwanda through the Visit Rwanda program, promoting tourism and fostering cultural and sporting ties.

The video underscores the club’s ongoing commitment to remembrance and global solidarity, highlighting the importance of honoring victims and supporting Rwanda during this solemn period.
