Burundian music star Big Fizzo is set to release a new 14-track album featuring Rwandan singer Kenny Sol, marking another high-profile collaboration between artists from the two neighbouring countries.
The album, titled Son Of Alkeburan (SOF), will feature Kenny Sol on Let Me Know, one of seven tracks included in the second part of the project.
Big Fizzo, whose real name is Mugani Désiré, announced the upcoming album as he prepares to release his fifth studio project.
The 14-track album is split into two parts.
The first part features Umurundi, Tell Me featuring Kolly Tha Magic, Ab’isi Part II, Nimeridhika featuring Black G, Ababare featuring Eden, Niruze and Donna.
The second part includes Gahanga, Afro Angel featuring Queen D, Don’t Worry, Nimelewa, Let Me Know featuring Kenny Sol, Single and Muzonyibuka.
Nimelewa has already been released and is available on Big Fizzo’s digital platforms, while the remaining tracks are expected to be released in the coming days.
The album is being executive-produced by Big Fizzo and his wife, Kimana Edith Stein, through their music label, BantuBwoy Entertainment.
Kenny Sol’s collaboration with Big Fizzo adds to a series of musical partnerships between the Burundian star and Rwandan artists.
Big Fizzo previously collaborated with Tom Close on Baza, Charly and Nina on Indoro, and Davis D on Truth or Dare.
Son Of Alkeburan follows Big Fizzo’s previous albums Jewe (2009), Fizzology (2017), Desideratus (2020) and 777 (Gratitude) (2024).
The project is expected to attract attention in both Burundi and Rwanda, particularly for its cross-border collaboration with one of Rwanda’s prominent contemporary musicians.
