The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has announced that training for coaches seeking to upgrade their skills and obtain the Confederation of African Football (CAF) C coaching licence will begin on November 16, 2026, and run until January 22, 2027.

The training will be open to both male and female coaches and will take place in Kigali and Rubavu District in three sessions.

The first session will run from November 16 to 21, 2026, while the second is scheduled for December 14 to 19, 2026. The third session will begin on January 18 and conclude on January 22, 2027.

FERWAFA said applicants must meet several requirements, including having completed secondary school, being at least 18 years old and holding a CAF D coaching licence obtained at least two years before applying.

Applicants must also have at least three years of coaching experience in the second division or two years in the third division. They are also required to provide a criminal record certificate.

Another requirement is completion of FIFA’s Safeguarding Essentials course, which teaches participants how to protect players from abuse and other risks to their safety, particularly children.

Candidates must also currently be coaching a team. Foreign applicants must have a valid coaching permit issued by the football federation in their home country.

Those selected for the training will pay Rwf300,000 if they are Rwandan nationals, while foreign participants will pay Rwf500,000.
