The Parliament of Rwanda, Chamber of Deputies, has announced the resignation of Deputy Icyitegetse Venuste, who represented youth in the legislature, citing personal reasons.
The announcement was made on Thursday, June 11, 2026, when the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies formally received his resignation letter.
Before stepping down, Icyitegetse Venuste had served as a Member of Parliament representing youth since late July 2024, following his election by the National Youth Council alongside Vanessa Umuhoza Gashumba.
In Parliament, he was a member of the Committee on National Budget and State Assets, which is responsible for scrutinizing government expenditure and oversight of public resources.
Prior to his parliamentary role, he worked in local government administration, including serving as Executive Secretary of a cell in Kigali City.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology (UR-CST), formerly known as KIST.
His resignation comes less than two years into his parliamentary mandate.
