Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has announced that he will soon release another song featuring Rwandan singer The Ben, following speculation that the two artists had reunited for a new musical project.
Diamond made the announcement upon arriving at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, where he was asked whether he had recorded another song with The Ben and when it would be released.
“Very soon!” he replied.
The announcement comes as the two musicians are expected to share the stage at an event celebrating 10 years of Alex Muhangi’s Comedy Store UG, a popular comedy show in Uganda. The event is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 2026, in Uganda.
Diamond Platnumz and The Ben have maintained a close friendship, which became particularly evident through their musical collaboration on a song titled ‘Why’, released in January 2022.
The song marked the beginning of a musical partnership that has brought them together at several performances. They performed it at the Trace Awards held in Kigali in 2023 and later at a concert in Uganda in 2025.
The Ben has repeatedly expressed his admiration for Diamond Platnumz, describing their collaboration as a blessing and praising the Tanzanian star’s talent and the success of their musical partnership.
During a press conference ahead of Friday’s event, The Ben again spoke about his relationship with Diamond, describing him as one of the artists he looks up to.
“I don’t know whether Diamond Platnumz receives the recognition he deserves because, to us as musicians, he is like a textbook. He is a book that I read every day to learn from and use as an example,” The Ben said.
In August 2026, Diamond also described The Ben as his brother, expressing his excitement about reuniting with him to perform their song ‘Why’.
