Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman have appointed German coach Dragan Paljić as their new assistant coach as the club strengthens its technical team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 43-year-old Paljić will work under fellow German coach Josef Zinnbauer, who recently took charge of the Sudanese champions.
The appointment reunites Paljić with Zinnbauer after the two previously worked together at Algerian side JS Kabylie and Saudi Arabian club Al Wehda. Paljić has served as Zinnbauer’s assistant on several occasions.
Paljić’s arrival adds experience to Al Hilal’s technical bench as the club prepares for a busy season that includes domestic competition in Rwanda and the CAF Champions League.
Al Hilal are expected to compete in Rwanda’s BK Pro League again after winning the title last season.
On the continental stage, Al Hilal will represent Sudan in the CAF Champions League, where they are set to face Burundi’s Aigle Noir FC in the first qualifying round.
The winner of that tie will face the winner of the first-round clash between Aiglons FC N’Djamena of Chad and Heegan FC of Somalia in the second qualifying round.
With Paljić joining Zinnbauer once again, Al Hilal will be looking to build on their domestic success while making a strong push in African competition.
