Cameroon striker Kameni Herman Junior scored twice as Rayon Sports extended their perfect pre-season record with a 2-1 victory over Sudanese side Al Ahly Wad Madani at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Wednesday.
The win marked Rayon Sports’ 10th consecutive victory since they began preparations for the 2026/27 season, with Kameni emerging as one of the standout performers during the build-up.
Kameni opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, heading home a well-delivered cross from Muderi Akbar.
He doubled the lead seven minutes into the second half after beating Al Ahly defenders before firing a powerful shot into the net.
Al Ahly reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute through substitute Emad Slah Al Sini, but Rayon Sports held on to claim another victory.
The brace took Kameni’s tally to four goals since joining the Rwandan giants, continuing an impressive start to his time at the club.
Rayon Sports have now scored at least two goals in eight of their 10 pre-season matches, underlining their attacking strength ahead of the new campaign.
Coach Haringingo Francis Christian used the friendly to assess his squad, starting seven players who have regularly featured in the first team before making six changes at the start of the second half.
He later introduced more players as he continued to give his squad valuable playing time ahead of the competitive season.
Rayon Sports will play their next competitive match on August 27 against Police FC in the semi-finals of the FERWAFA Super Cup.
They will then turn their attention to the CAF Confederation Cup, where they face Cameroon’s Panthère Sportive du Ndé in the first qualifying round.
Al Ahly Wad Madani are also preparing for the CAF Confederation Cup and have been using Rwanda as their training base ahead of the tournament.
The Sudanese club will face Kenya’s Tusker FC in the first qualifying round and are expected to host their home matches in Kigali.
