A Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) delegation led by Maj. Gen. Vincent Nyakarundi, Commander of Land Forces, on the third day of its working visit to the Central African Republic held talks with Général d’Armée Zéphirin Mamadou, Chief of Staff of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA).
The discussions focused on strengthening military cooperation between Rwanda and the Central African Republic, with emphasis on enhancing existing defence partnerships and operational coordination.
The two sides also reviewed progress in the implementation of the military cooperation agreement signed in 2019, which has guided bilateral defence engagement over recent years.
According to officials, both delegations expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting highlighted continued collaboration between the two countries in security and defence, including capacity building, training, and institutional support aimed at strengthening national defence capabilities.
Military officials noted that the partnership has contributed to improved coordination and resilience in addressing security challenges, while reinforcing broader regional stability efforts.
Both parties agreed to sustain and expand the cooperation framework in the coming years, underscoring their shared commitment to long-term defence partnership.
