Veteran love-song artist Makanyaga Abdul is set to perform at the upcoming Gen-Z Comedy show scheduled for Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Camp Kigali.

The event will also feature acclaimed poet Junior Rumaga, who will engage audiences alongside the comedy performances.

Organisers say the edition has been themed to usher audiences into the Valentine’s Day mood ahead of Saint Valentine’s Day, marked annually on February 14.

Gen-Z Comedy founder and comedian Fally Merci said Makanyaga was selected for his long-standing contribution to Rwandan love music, citing popular songs such as Hashize Iminsi, Indwara y’Umutima and Urukundo.

Junior Rumaga, who recently released a new poem titled Inzira y’Umusaraba in collaboration with King Kivumbi, will also share insights into his poetry journey and discuss preparations for the upcoming Siga Art Festival, scheduled for March 2026.

The show will feature performances from a lineup of established comedians, including Muhinde, Rumi, Umushumba, MC Kandii, Musa, Soloba, among others.

Held twice a month, Gen-Z Comedy has become a regular fixture on Kigali’s entertainment calendar. Its organiser recently attracted public attention after extending an invitation to President Paul Kagame to attend and endorse the initiative.

Tickets are priced at Rwf 5,000 for regular seating, Rwf 10,000 for VIP, and Rwf 20,000 for VVIP.
