The Force Commander of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Lt Gen Humphrey Nyone, has commended Rwanda’s continued contribution to peacekeeping operations in the country.
Lt Gen Nyone made the remarks on Tuesday during discussions with Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, Commander of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Land Forces, who is on a five-day official visit to the Central African Republic.
The two military leaders exchanged views on the prevailing security situation and ongoing MINUSCA operations, with a particular focus on the performance of Rwandan troops deployed under the UN mission.
Lt Gen Nyone praised the professionalism, discipline, and commitment of Rwandan peacekeepers, noting their role in strengthening security and supporting stability efforts in the Central African Republic.
