Mukura VS&L are set to receive nearly Rwf15 million in compensation after parting ways with Czech coach Tomáš Trucha before he took charge of the team.
The Huye-based club ended its agreement with Trucha on Monday after the coach requested to terminate the contract following an offer from another European club that reportedly presented better financial terms.
Trucha had already arrived in Rwanda, travelled to Huye and held direct talks with Mukura officials before asking to be released from the agreement.
The contract reportedly included a clause requiring any party seeking to terminate the deal to pay compensation equivalent to four months of salary.
Trucha was expected to earn Rwf3.7 million per month, meaning Mukura will receive close to Rwf15 million as part of the separation agreement.
The compensation comes as Mukura return to the search for a new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season. The club is looking for a replacement for Canisius Nshimiyimana, who left the team and was later appointed head coach of Amagaju FC.
Mukura are yet to begin their pre-season preparations, while the club continues to reshape its squad following several departures.
Among the players who have left are Iradukunda Elie Tatou and Hakizimana Zuberi, who joined Rayon Sports.
The club has also moved to strengthen its squad with several new arrivals, including goalkeeper Ndagijimana Leandre from Gasogi United, Niyonizeye Telesphore from AS Muhanga, Abumuremyi, Ugandan striker Freedom Mungudit from Lugazi FC and midfielder Dusabimana Olivier from Unity FC.
Defender Irumva Justin has also extended his contract with Mukura until 2028.
