Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) have received high praise from the newly appointed Sector Commander for the North-Eastern Sector, Brig. Gen. Hamad Mostafa Ahmed Adel Mansour, who commended their professionalism, discipline, and commitment to protecting civilians.
Brig. Gen. Mansour visited the Rwanda Battle Group headquarters in Bria on Monday, June 1, where he was welcomed by the contingent commander, Lt. Col. David Ngabonziza.
During the visit, the Sector Commander was briefed on the prevailing security situation as well as ongoing military operations being conducted by the Rwandan contingent within its area of responsibility to ensure the safety and protection of local communities.
Drawing on his previous experience in United Nations peacekeeping operations, where he served alongside Rwandan troops, Brig. Gen. Mansour lauded the contingent’s exemplary conduct and operational professionalism, describing these qualities as hallmarks of Rwanda’s contribution to international peacekeeping efforts.
He encouraged the troops to continue upholding these standards as they carry out their mandate of protecting civilians and supporting peace and stability in the Central African Republic.
Rwanda remains one of the leading contributors to UN peacekeeping missions, with its troops widely recognized for their effectiveness, discipline, and dedication in conflict-affected regions.
