An 11-year-old boy who had been staying at his grandmother’s home was found dead after a suspected attack by unidentified assailants in Nyanza District.
The incident occurred around midday on April 17, 2026, in Kabuye Village, Kabirizi Cell, Nyagisozi Sector.
According to local sources, the boy’s grandmother had gone to the fields and returned home to find him, identified as HAGENIMANA Samuel, severely injured.
Witnesses reported that the child had sustained a serious head injury and was unable to speak, though he was still showing signs of life at the time he was discovered.
He was rushed for emergency medical attention but was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kirambi Health Center.
A local administrative official told UMUNOTA.COM that authorities had visited the scene and were still gathering information to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The child’s family home is in Nyamagana Village, Rurangazi Cell, Nyagisozi Sector, but he was staying temporarily at his grandmother’s residence when the attack occurred.
