Police WVC have signed Mpuhwezimana Diane, a setter who joins the club from APR WVC.
The club announced the signing on Friday, September 25, 2026, through its social media platforms following several days of negotiations.
Mpuhwezimana previously served as APR WVC’s second-choice setter. She will now join Police WVC, where she will compete for the position alongside Ndagijimana Iris and Teta Zulfat.
The young setter was part of Rwanda’s national team that finished fourth at the most recent African Volleyball Championship held in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mpuhwezimana is the third player signed by Police WVC under head coach Hatumimana Christian, following the arrivals of Bidza Ekani Lucie Carole, Rosaly Chioma and Uzamukunda Fillette.
Police WVC are rebuilding their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season after losing the league title last season and failing to reach the playoff final. They were eliminated by Kepler WVC in the semi-finals.
Following Mpuhwezimana’s departure, APR WVC signed Kenyan setter Esther Kamene Mutinda from Kenya Commercial Bank. Mutinda was also part of the Kenya national team that reached the final of the most recent African Championship.
She will compete for the starting position with fellow Kenyan Lina Ogwera Achieng, who joined APR WVC in January this year.
APR WVC have also signed middle blocker Musaniwabo Hope from Kepler WVC as a replacement for Uwiringiyimana Albertine, who left to study and play volleyball in the United States.
Both of APR WVC’s new signings have already begun training with the team.
