Rayon Sports FC suffered a 2-0 defeat to Mozambique’s Black Bulls in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Coach Haringingo Francis Christian made few changes to his starting lineup, handing Burundian player Elie Eldinho Mokono his debut for the club. Issa Djiguiba, who missed the first-round matches, also started, while Gloire Tambwe and Atisso Kodjo operated on the wings.

Rayon Sports began the match looking for an early goal but struggled to establish rhythm, losing possession repeatedly and relying on long balls rather than building attacks through short passes.

The hosts created several opportunities in the first half but failed to convert them. In the 35th minute, Ganijuru sent a dangerous effort towards goal, forcing the Black Bulls goalkeeper to make a difficult save.

Black Bulls came close to scoring in the 42nd minute when Martinho’s effort was stopped by Rayon Sports goalkeeper Dande Junior. The resulting corner led to further set-piece opportunities, but the visitors could not capitalise.

Two minutes later, Issa Djiguiba broke past the Black Bulls defence and appeared poised to shoot, but the move was halted for offside.

After two minutes of added time, the teams went into the break level at 0-0.
