Rayon Sports has completed the signing of Cameroonian forward Junior Kameni as the club continues to reinforce its squad ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The 25-year-old striker was unveiled as a Rayon Sports player on Sunday after joining from United Arab Emirates side Sharjah, where he spent the previous season.

Kameni brings experience from different leagues, having previously featured for Sharjah FC in the UAE, Kaysar FC in Kazakhstan, Morocco’s FUS Rabat, FUS Espoirs and Union Touarga, as well as Norway’s Naestved BK.

He was also part of the Sharjah team that lifted the AFC Champions League Two title.

Despite his experience abroad, Kameni had limited playing time last season, with records from football statistics platform Transfermarkt showing that he made seven appearances without registering a goal or an assist.

The Cameroonian becomes Rayon Sports’ 14th signing of the current transfer window and the eighth foreign player recruited as the club seeks to assemble a strong squad for upcoming domestic and continental competitions.

The Blues and Whites are currently holding pre-season training sessions in Gicumbi as they prepare for the 2026 Rayon Day celebration, scheduled for July 18 at Kigali Pele Stadium.

The club is also gearing up for a demanding season featuring the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which Rwanda will host from July 24 to August 7, the CAF Confederation Cup and the 2026/27 BK Pro League campaign.

Rayon Sports recently intensified its preparations with a friendly victory over South Sudanese side Jamus SC, winning 4-3.
