Rwanda and Chad have signed a bilateral agreement establishing a Joint Cooperation Commission, marking a significant step toward deepening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday in N’Djamena by Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, and his Chadian counterpart, Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul.

The newly established commission will provide a structured platform for both governments to strengthen collaboration across strategic sectors of mutual interest, with a focus on advancing shared development priorities.

Officials described the agreement as a key milestone in reinforcing longstanding relations, signaling renewed momentum in bilateral cooperation and a shared commitment to closer engagement for the benefit of both nations.

During his visit, Nduhungirehe also met with President Mahamat Idriss Déby, conveying a message from Paul Kagame—a move that further highlights the strengthening diplomatic ties between Kigali and N’Djamena.
