The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) has reported that Rwanda generated over Frw 13.8 billion from agricultural and livestock exports within just four days, underscoring the sector’s growing contribution to the country’s export revenues.
According to the latest NAEB report, the exports were recorded between March 30 and April 2, 2026, during which a total of 9,426 tonnes of produce were shipped to international markets.
Coffee and tea remained key foreign exchange earners. The report shows that 307 tonnes of coffee generated Frw 2.2 billion, while 774 tonnes of tea brought in Frw 3 billion. Vegetable exports also posted notable performance, with 298 tonnes earning Frw 770 million.
Fruit exports reached 378 tonnes, generating Frw 414 million, while 16 tonnes of flowers contributed Frw 127 million.
Other agricultural commodities—including roots and tubers, legumes, and cereals—accounted for the largest share in volume, with 7,396 tonnes exported, generating Frw 6.7 billion.
Rwanda’s agricultural exports reached a wide range of markets across Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Norway, Germany, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and the United States.
The strong performance reflects ongoing efforts to scale up production, diversify export destinations, and strengthen value chains in Rwanda’s agriculture sector, positioning it as a key driver of economic growth and foreign exchange earnings.
