Rwanda generated more than Rwf 13.7 billion from agricultural and livestock exports within just five days, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

The figures are contained in NAEB’s latest weekly export report covering the period between April 17 and May 1, 2026.

During the reporting period, Rwanda exported 9,488 tonnes of agricultural and livestock products to international markets, including coffee, tea, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other commodities.

Tea remained the country’s leading export earner, with 1,232 tonnes generating more than Rwf 5 billion, while 236 tonnes of coffee brought in over Rwf 1.2 billion.

Vegetable exports reached 366 tonnes, earning nearly Rwf 898 million, while 517 tonnes of fruits generated more than Rwf 542 million.

Flower exports totaled 17 tonnes, bringing in over Rwf 137 million.

Other agricultural products, including cereals, legumes, and root crops, accounted for the largest export volume at 6,541 tonnes and generated more than Rwf 5.2 billion.

In the livestock sector, exports totaling 572 tonnes earned the country over Rwf 695 million.

NAEB said the products were exported to several international markets, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Nigeria, and other African countries.

The latest figures underscore the growing contribution of agriculture and livestock exports to Rwanda’s foreign exchange earnings as the country continues to expand its global market reach.
