Rwanda earns over RWF 15 billion from agricultural exports in five days

Rwanda generated more than RWF 15 billion from exports of agricultural and livestock products within a five-day period, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).

Data from NAEB’s weekly export performance report shows that 9,946 tonnes of agricultural produce were shipped to international markets between June 8 and June 12, 2026.

Coffee remained among the leading export earners, with 383 tonnes generating RWF 3.4 billion, while tea exports totaling 825 tonnes earned RWF 3.3 billion. Vegetable exports stood at 312 tonnes, bringing in RWF 522 million.

Fruit exports reached 323 tonnes and earned RWF 326 million, while flowers accounted for 14 tonnes, generating RWF 114 million. Other crop categories, including tubers, legumes, and cereals, dominated volumes with 7,846 tonnes, contributing RWF 7.6 billion.

Livestock and related products contributed 243 tonnes, earning RWF 399 million.

NAEB noted that Rwanda’s agricultural exports reached multiple international markets, including China, the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Oman, the Netherlands, and other African countries.
