Rwandan delegation led by Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, Chief of Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force’s Land Force, attended a regional meeting of military chiefs in Kampala, Uganda, on October 8, 2026.

The meeting, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, brought together military chiefs, intelligence officials and leaders of United Nations and African Union peacekeeping missions to discuss military cooperation and regional security.

It was officially opened by Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the guest of honour, said lasting security depends on a stable economy, political unity and cooperation among countries.

The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration among regional military and security leaders in support of peace and stability.
