Rwanda’s private sector has been called on to step up preparations and fully harness opportunities linked to the upcoming Africa CEO Forum 2026 set for May 14–15 in Kigali.

The call emerged from a high-level engagement between the Rwanda Development Board and the Private Sector Federation with business leaders on April 22, 2026, aimed at aligning expectations and readiness ahead of the continental gathering.

RDB Chief Executive Officer Jean-Guy Afrika described the forum as a strategic platform that goes beyond dialogue, offering concrete business and investment prospects for local enterprises.

“With Africa CEO Forum 2026 approaching, Rwanda has a unique chance to connect its private sector to top African executives, investors and decision-makers. This is a platform for deals, partnerships and visibility,” he said.

Afrika urged businesses to come prepared with bankable projects, clear value propositions and a strong understanding of market dynamics to maximise engagement during the forum.

Echoing the message, François Twagirumukiza, Chairperson of PSF, cautioned against treating the event as routine, stressing that tangible benefits will depend on how well participants position themselves.

“This forum is a gateway to investment, partnerships, new markets and technology. But results will only come to those who are prepared and strategic in their approach,” he noted.

He added that PSF is reinforcing support to its members to boost productivity, expand operations and adopt innovation, enabling them to compete effectively on regional and continental markets.

Organisers anticipate a strong turnout of global and African business leaders, increasing the urgency for local firms to refine proposals, sharpen negotiation strategies and proactively seek partnerships.

Regarded as one of Africa’s premier private sector platforms, the Africa CEO Forum convenes influential business and policy leaders to drive investment and shape economic transformation. Rwanda’s hosting of the 2026 edition marks its third time, following successful editions in 2019 and 2024.

RDB Chief Executive Officer Jean-Guy Afrika highlighted to private sector players that hosting the forum is a major opportunity for both them and the country.
Private Sector Federation Chairperson François Twagirumukiza urged business leaders to capitalise on the opportunity by expanding partnerships, strengthening collaboration, and exploring new markets for their products and services.
