Rwanda is seeking to deepen its foothold in China’s coffee market by showcasing its beans at Café Show China 2026, using the international exhibition to connect local exporters with Chinese buyers, traders and investors.
Rwanda’s participation brought its coffee producers and exporters into contact with players across the coffee value chain, as the country seeks to expand markets for one of its key agricultural exports.
The exhibition brought together coffee-producing countries, processors, traders, industry professionals and consumers, providing a platform for businesses to establish commercial links and promote their products.
Rwanda used the event to highlight the quality and distinctive flavour of its coffee while seeking new buyers and investment opportunities in China.
The push comes as coffee consumption continues to expand beyond traditional markets, creating opportunities for producing countries to diversify their export destinations and increase the value generated from coffee.
Rwandan coffee has built a reputation in international markets for its quality and flavour, while trade exhibitions such as Café Show China are being used to strengthen relationships with overseas buyers.
For Rwanda’s coffee exporters, greater access to Chinese buyers could provide opportunities to expand sales, develop new commercial partnerships and increase the visibility of Rwandan coffee in the Asian market.
The participation also forms part of wider efforts to promote Rwandan agricultural products internationally and connect producers with higher-value markets.
By taking its coffee directly to international buyers, Rwanda is seeking to turn global recognition of its beans into stronger commercial relationships and increased export opportunities.
