Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, has delivered a message from President Paul Kagame to Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed during a meeting in Tunis.
The talks, held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Rwanda and Tunisia, as well as securing support for Louise Mushikiwabo’s candidacy for a renewed term as Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).
Minister Nduhungirehe also held separate discussions with Tunisia’s Foreign Minister, Mohamed Ali Nafti, during which both sides signed two agreements on political consultation and the establishment of a joint permanent commission aimed at deepening cooperation.
The two countries reviewed opportunities to expand collaboration in sectors including aviation, health, security, and technology.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening long-standing diplomatic and development cooperation.
