Rwanda has signed a partnership agreement with the International Institute for Diplomacy (IID) to enhance the country’s diplomatic capacity and international engagement.
The agreement, signed on December 10, 2025, in Switzerland, sets the framework for joint initiatives in advanced training on diplomacy, international negotiations, law, communication, and cooperative programs.
Speaking during the signing, Rwanda was represented by its Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva. IID was represented by President Pablo Demierre and Vice President Vincent Subilia.
Founded in Geneva, IID promotes effective international relations management, diplomacy, advocacy, and knowledge-sharing on international politics and inter-state relations.
The partnership is expected to provide Rwandan diplomats with access to specialized training, enhancing their skills in negotiation, international law, and multilateral cooperation, strengthening Rwanda’s ability to engage in global diplomacy and international policymaking.
This move aligns with Rwanda’s broader strategy to professionalize its diplomatic service and expand its influence in multilateral forums.
