The Rwanda Capital Market Authority (CMA) has appointed Romeo Ngarambe as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Thapelo Tseole of Botswana, who stepped down in January 2026 after serving since June 2024.

Ngarambe brings over 13 years of international experience in finance and investment, with expertise in promoting capital markets, improving market operations, and providing financial advisory services.

Before joining CMA, Ngarambe held senior leadership roles in global financial management, notably at Corning Inc., where he oversaw budgeting, financial planning, reporting, investment analysis, and governance strategies across multiple operations.

He also served as Senior Business Risk Consultant at Deloitte & Touche LLP, providing advisory services on financial markets, investment risk assessment, credit and capital analysis, and investor protection strategies.

Academically, Ngarambe holds a master’s degree in Accounting from Binghamton University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Toccoa Falls College. He is also a certified project management professional.

As CMA CEO, Ngarambe is expected to strengthen Rwanda’s capital markets by ensuring transparency, reliability, and efficiency. His mandate includes protecting investors by preventing fraud and misconduct, fostering confidence in the financial markets, and promoting sustainable growth in Rwanda’s investment landscape.
