Rwandan gospel artist Israel Mbonyi says his song Tugumane can provide solace to people struggling with grief or going through difficult times.
He made the remarks on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, during a talk at City Light Foursquare Church in Kigali. The session, titled “Bridging Fame and Faith,” also featured fellow artist Tom Close.
During a Q&A, Mbonyi was asked which of his songs could help someone in challenging moments. He reflected briefly before performing Tugumane, a 2023 release, with the congregation joining him in singing. He concluded by thanking the audience and saying “Amen.”
Mbonyi is one of Rwanda’s most prominent gospel artists and is well-known across East Africa. His music focuses on encouragement, spiritual comfort, and bringing listeners closer to God.
Tugumane is particularly recommended for anyone seeking emotional support during times of sorrow or hardship.
