Amavubi players begin training camp ahead of FIFA Series

Rwanda’s national football team, Amavubi, began arriving at the FERWAFA hotel in Remera on Sunday for a training camp in preparation for the 2026 FIFA Series, set to take place in Rwanda from March 26 to 30.

The friendly tournament will feature eight teams from around the world, divided into two groups. Group A matches will be held at Stade Amahoro, starting with Kenya vs Estonia, followed by Rwanda vs Grenada on March 27. The group stage concludes on March 30, with the final match potentially featuring Rwanda or Kenya depending on earlier results.

Group B will play at Kigali Pelé Stadium, beginning on March 26 with Aruba vs Macau and Tanzania vs Liechtenstein. The final group match is scheduled for March 29.

Coach [Name] has called up 31 players, including four goalkeepers: Ntwari Fiacre, Bigirimana Hugo, Hakizimana Adolphe, and Niyongira Patience. Defenders include Mutsinzi Ange, Imanishimwe Emmanuel, Niyomugabo Claude, and Uwumukiza Obed, while midfielders and forwards feature Kalisa Sven, Ruboneka Jean Bosco, Mugisha Gilbert, Hakim Sahabo, and Mickels Joy, among others.

Notable new call-ups include Bigirimana Hugo (La Chaux-De-Fonds, Switzerland), Kalisa Sven (FC Etzella Ettelbruck, Luxembourg), and the Mickels brothers from Azerbaijan, expected to strengthen the team’s attacking options.

The FIFA Series will also take place in other countries, including Australia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Puerto Rico, and Uzbekistan, as part of efforts to promote football globally.
