Rwandan international footballer Yannick Mukunzi has revealed that he composed a special song dedicated to his wife, Iribagiza Joy, marking their seven years of marriage.
The Helges IF midfielder, who currently plays in Sweden, shared a short audio clip of the song on his Instagram “Stories” on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, giving fans a preview of the emotional tribute.
In his message accompanying the post, Mukunzi said he surprised his wife with the song, an emotional moment that moved her to tears.
“Yesterday I surprised my wife with this song I made for her, and she burst into tears. I will share the full song soon,” he wrote.
In the unreleased track, Mukunzi praises Joy, describing her as his closest companion and a devoted mother who shows daily love to their children.
The couple’s relationship began in 2015 and later culminated in a civil marriage on January 20, 2019, held in Remera Sector in Kigali. The ceremony took place before Mukunzi’s move to Sweden to join Sandvikens IF.
They later formalised their traditional wedding on January 8, 2023, at Heaven Garden in Rebero, Kigali.
The couple is blessed with two sons, Ethan Mukunzi and Titan Mukunzi, continuing to build a family life alongside Mukunzi’s professional football career abroad.
