APR FC players have undergone comprehensive medical examinations, including drug testing and screening for non-communicable diseases, as the club begins preparations for the 2026/27 football season.
The medical assessments were conducted on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Kanombe Military Referral Hospital as part of the club’s routine pre-season health checks.
The tests covered several areas, including blood pressure monitoring, heart examinations, drug screening, and other key medical evaluations aimed at assessing players’ fitness and overall health status.
APR FC said the exercise is designed to ensure that all players are in optimal condition before resuming training sessions and competitive matches.
The health checks come as Rwanda’s football governing body, FERWAFA, prepares to introduce mandatory random testing of players from the 2026/27 season to combat the use of prohibited substances and performance-enhancing drugs.
The initiative is expected to strengthen health monitoring, promote fair play, and enhance professional standards across Rwandan football.
