Rwandan comedian Elysée Ndimurukundo, popularly known as Pirate, has had musician Bruce Melodie’s name tattooed on his left arm as a tribute to the artist he says he greatly admires.
Pirate unveiled the tattoo on Instagram, showing the inscription “Itahiwacu Bruce #001” on his arm.
“Itahiwacu” is Bruce Melodie’s given name, while “Bruce #001” is a phrase associated with the singer’s personal brand.
Pirate has long been known as a passionate Bruce Melodie fan and has frequently expressed his admiration for the musician. The tattoo, however, marks a more permanent expression of that support.
His public displays of admiration became particularly prominent during Bruce Melodie and The Ben’s “Summer Country Tour”, which saw the two musicians perform in different parts of Rwanda.
Pirate is one of the comedians who have gained popularity through Rwanda’s Gen Z Comedy scene.
