Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa has presented her letters of credence to His Serene Highness Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, officially accrediting her as Rwanda’s representative to the principality.
The ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in the capital, Vaduz.
Following the presentation, Ambassador Urujeni and Prince Alois held discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in various sectors, including technology, innovation, and partnerships tailored to the shared experiences of landlocked countries.
Diplomatic relations between Rwanda and Liechtenstein were formally established in 2009. Since then, the two nations have cooperated in areas such as development initiatives, support for education programmes, and efforts to advance knowledge-based economic growth.
Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa succeeds Ambassador Marie Chantal Rwakazina, who had represented Rwanda in Liechtenstein since 2020 while heading Rwanda’s Embassy in Switzerland and Geneva.
Her accreditation marks an important step in further deepening ties between the two countries, particularly as Rwandan nationals previously had to travel to Switzerland to access embassy services.
