Share with Others

Selected Rwandan youth football coaches will benefit from specialized coaching and mentorship from experts at Atlético de Madrid, as part of a program led by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) under its Visit Rwanda initiative.

Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and the Rwandan Football Federation (FERWAFA), the program aims to strengthen grassroots football by equipping coaches with modern technical and tactical skills used at the Atlético de Madrid Academy.

RDB announced that applications for the program are now open for coaches working with children’s teams who wish to enhance their expertise. Successful candidates will benefit from year-long mentorship and guidance from Atlético de Madrid specialists, gaining knowledge on training methods, player development, and international best practices.

In addition to ongoing local support, selected coaches will have the opportunity to travel to Madrid, Spain, for hands-on training at the club’s facilities, where they will experience world-class coaching and practical exercises used in European youth football programs.

Atlético de Madrid is a longstanding partner of Rwanda through the Visit Rwanda campaign, promoting the country internationally by featuring its logo on the men’s and women’s team kits.

This initiative is part of Rwanda’s broader strategy to develop football from the grassroots, ensuring young players receive high-quality coaching and creating a foundation for the next generation of football talent in the country.
