RwandAir has announced delays to several flights after dense fog reduced visibility at Kigali International Airport, disrupting normal flight operations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2025, the national carrier said the adverse weather conditions affected both inbound and outbound flights, forcing schedule adjustments.
“Due to heavy fog resulting in low visibility at Kigali International Airport, some flights arriving in and departing from Kigali may experience delays,” RwandAir said.
The airline apologized to passengers for the inconvenience and called for patience as the situation is closely monitored in coordination with airport and aviation authorities.
Fog, which is common during the rainy season and early morning hours, can significantly limit runway visibility, affecting take-off and landing operations and requiring pilots to observe strict safety procedures.
RwandAir said it will provide updates as conditions improve and operations gradually return to normal.
