As preparations intensify for the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL) finals in Kigali, organizers have unveiled East African music stars Bien-Aimé Baraza, popularly known as Bien, and Tanzanian sensation Abigail Chams among performers set to entertain fans during the tournament.

The BAL finals will take place at BK Arena from May 22 to 31, 2026, bringing together top basketball talent and entertainment acts from across the continent.

Kenyan singer Bien will perform on the tournament’s opening day on May 22, while Abigail Chams is scheduled to headline the halftime show during the closing stages of the competition on May 31.

Bien, one of East Africa’s most celebrated artists, is widely known for hit songs including “My Baby” featuring Nigerian star Ayra Starr, “Ifoto” with Bruce Melodie, “Inauma” and “Nairobi.”

The Kenyan star rose to continental fame as a member of the award-winning band Sauti Sol, known for chart-topping songs such as “Suzanna,” “Sura Yako,” “Melanin” and “Kuliko Jana.” Bien is also recognized for his energetic live performances and strong stage presence.

Meanwhile, Abigail Chams continues to emerge as one of Tanzania’s fast-rising young music talents. The singer, songwriter and entrepreneur is known for her versatility in playing multiple musical instruments including the piano, violin, guitar and drums.

She gained wider international attention after American superstar Beyoncé praised her rendition of the song “Brown Skin Girl.” Abigail Chams has since built a growing fan base across Africa, particularly among young audiences.

Beyond the arena performances, BAL organizers have also lined up a side entertainment event dubbed “Party Next Door,” which is expected to feature Nigerian rapper and music executive Olamide at Zaria Court in Kigali.

This year’s BAL edition is expected to blend elite basketball competition with high-profile entertainment experiences as Kigali continues to strengthen its reputation as a leading host city for major sports and cultural events in Africa.

Organizers say the combination of sport and music is aimed at delivering a memorable fan experience for visitors traveling from different parts of the continent.

Fans of African basketball and music are expected to flock to BK Arena for what promises to be one of the most vibrant editions of BAL yet.
