President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined a grandparents’ day celebration held at Green Hills Academy in Kigali, an event dedicated to honoring grandparents of nursery pupils.
The celebration brought together grandparents of children in the final year of nursery school, who were entertained through traditional dances, poetry, and performances prepared by the pupils in appreciation of their role in upbringing and family support.
Organized by the school as part of its early childhood education programme, the event also aimed to support pupils transitioning from nursery to primary school while strengthening parental and family engagement in education.
Among the participants was Anaya Abe Ndengeyingoma, granddaughter of the President and daughter of Ange Kagame, who joined fellow pupils in performing for their grandparents.
The event highlighted the role of intergenerational bonding in early childhood development and education support.
