Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe, has praised the Kigali performance by Doja Cat as a landmark moment for the country’s entertainment industry, describing it as the most outstanding concert ever staged at BK Arena.
The electrifying show, held on Tuesday night, March 17, 2026, was part of the third edition of the Move Afrika, and drew thousands of revelers from across Rwanda and the wider region.
Music fans from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Liberia joined locals in filling the arena to capacity, highlighting Kigali’s growing appeal as a regional entertainment destination.
Renowned for her genre-defying sound and high-octane performances, Doja Cat delivered a show defined by powerful vocals, seamless choreography and commanding stage presence. From the opening act to the final encore, the artist kept the audience on its feet, blending musical precision with visual spectacle.
Her performance, marked by vibrant lighting, synchronized dance routines and strong audience interaction, left many in awe, with fans describing the experience as unforgettable.
Among those in attendance, Minister Nduhungirehe took to X to commend both the artist and the event’s organization, noting that the concert surpassed all previous performances he had witnessed at the venue.
“I have attended many concerts at BK Arena, but this one stands out as the best in terms of organization and entertainment I have ever seen here. Doja Cat is a unique performer with extraordinary energy,” he said.
Entertainment analysts echoed similar sentiments, describing the concert as historic and a defining moment for Rwanda’s live events scene. They pointed to the scale of production, international turnout and overall execution as evidence of the country’s growing capacity to host world-class shows.
The success of the Move Afrika concert is seen as a significant boost to Rwanda’s ambition to position itself as a continental hub for arts and entertainment, aligning with broader efforts to promote cultural tourism and the creative economy.
As Kigali continues to attract global stars and large audiences, industry players say the bar has now been raised—setting a new standard for future performances at BK Arena and beyond.
