REG BBC have suffered a setback in their Cheetah Energy Rwanda Basketball League playoff campaign after new signings William Kiah Perry and Abdoulaye Harouna Amadou were ruled ineligible to play due to incomplete transfer requirements.

The two foreign players had joined REG BBC from Moroccan side FUS Rabat to strengthen the team during the playoff stage, but they will not feature after failing to complete the necessary documentation required by FIBA and the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA).

Perry and Harouna had already arrived in Kigali and attended REG BBC’s opening semi-final game against Patriots BBC, but they will now miss the remainder of the playoff campaign.

The absence of the two experienced players comes at a crucial stage for REG BBC, who are battling Patriots BBC in a best-of-five semi-final series at BK Arena.

REG BBC and Patriots BBC were scheduled to meet in Game Two of the semi-finals, with the first team to win three games advancing to the next stage.

Meanwhile, the other semi-final series features APR BBC against RSSB Tigers BBC, with RSSB Tigers taking the opening game.
