Rwanda earned over $13 million from agricultural exports between February 2 and 6, 2026, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB). The revenue, equivalent to about 19 billion Rwandan francs, highlights the growing contribution of agriculture to the country’s foreign earnings.
Coffee and tea led the exports, with 650 tons of coffee generating $3.9 million and 958 tons of tea bringing in $2.8 million. Vegetable exports totaled 363 tons, earning more than $390,000, mostly destined for European markets, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and France.
Flower exports reached 59 tons, generating $614,925, with the bulk shipped to the UK and the Netherlands. Rwanda also exported 267 tons of fruits, earning $311,860, primarily to the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and Spain.
Livestock products contributed 364 tons to exports, bringing in $676,440, largely sent to the UAE and other African markets. Meanwhile, 6,732 tons of other agricultural products were exported, generating $4.2 million, with major destinations including the UAE, African countries, and cross-border markets.
The figures underline the significant role of agricultural exports in strengthening Rwanda’s economy and expanding its presence in international markets.
